Chapter 02 · Green Diaspora Forum 2026

Participant guide

Your agenda, working group, site visits, introductions, meetings, pledges and badge.

01

Set up your profile

The first time you sign in you are asked two consent questions, then a short profile: what you do, what you offer and what you need. Good answers mean better introductions.

Your profile shows a strength ring: the more of it you fill in (bio, roles, sectors, skills, what you offer and need, languages), the higher it goes and the better your matches.

Tip. Be specific in "What I offer" and "What I need". "Two days a month of solar installer training" matches far better than "help".

02

Your forum at a glance

Your home screen lines up everything you have signed up for, in order and in Belize time: saved sessions, working groups, site-visit buses and 1:1 meetings. The one happening now and the next one are highlighted, with how long until it starts.

The buttons under your name open your badge, the agenda, your introductions and a new pledge.

03

Agenda

  1. Open Agenda.
  2. Tap Save on each session you want.
  3. Use My plan to see only your sessions, and Add to calendar to put them in your phone.

All times are Belize time. If you are speaking, the forum team adds you to your session and you are shown as busy for meetings at that time.

04

Working groups

Working groups are the heart of the forum. Each has a brief, a facilitator, a time and a limited number of seats.

  1. Open Groups. Groups are laid out by time slot, with the ones you joined under "Your groups". Each card shows the time, room, theme and seats left.
  2. Tap Join on the group you want. You can join several groups, as long as their times do not clash and seats are left.
  3. Open the group space to see who is in it, post on the group board and follow its pilot ideas.

When the group agrees on something worth trying, the facilitator adds it as a pilot idea. After the forum team reviews it, the pilot can appear on the public projects page and the venue screens, and anyone can pledge to it.

Tip. Changed your mind? Leave the group from its page. Your notes stay on the board and your seat goes back to the pool.

Why can I not join?

The group may be full, it may clash with a group you are already in, or your registration may still be waiting for approval.

Who can read the board?

Only people in the group, the facilitator and the forum team.

05

Site visits

  1. Open Visits to see each trip, its departure time, meeting point and seats.
  2. Tap Reserve a seat. If the visit is full you join the waiting list instead.
  3. If someone gives up a seat, the first person waiting gets it automatically and a notification.

On the day, be at the meeting point a few minutes early and show your badge at the bus door. If you cannot go, tap Give up my seat so someone on the waiting list can.

06

Introductions and meetings

The forum team reviews suggested introductions based on what people offer and need, then sends the good ones. You only see introductions the team has approved.

  1. Open Matches and read why the two of you should meet.
  2. Tap Accept or Not for me. Declined pairs are never suggested again.
  3. Once both of you accept, tap Book a meeting and pick a time that is free for both of you.
  4. Meetings show both time zones and can be added to your calendar. Cancel from Meetings if plans change.

Tip. In-person meetings are at numbered tables in the meeting area. Your table number is on the meeting card.

07

Pledges

A pledge is a promise to give money, mentoring hours, volunteer days, training places, equipment, procurement, a partnership or a policy action. A pledge is a public statement of intent, not a contract. If you and the recipient want it to be binding, sign a separate written agreement.

  1. Open Pledges and tap Make a pledge (or Pledge to this pilot from a working group).
  2. Say what you are pledging, who it is for, the amount or quantity, and a due date.
  3. You get a reference number like GD-PLG-2026-00042 and an email asking you to confirm.
  4. After the forum, open the pledge to add progress, and upload evidence when it is done.
StatusWhat it means

Reminders arrive 30, 7 and 1 days before the due date. Evidence can be a PDF, JPEG or PNG up to 10 MB; files are private.

08

Your badge

Your badge is a QR code in the app. Show it at the door on arrival and at the bus door for site visits.

Tip. Open Badge once while you have signal; it then works offline. A screenshot works too.
